We are an approved Covid-19 vaccination provider for children aged 5-11 years.

When your child attends for their vaccine:

When your child attends for their vaccine:

  1. Please bring their Medicare card
  2. Make sure your child wears short sleeves
  3. You will only be allocated a brief appointment for each vaccination. The doctor will not be able to deal with any other unrelated medical issues during your appointment.
  4. If you live nearby, consider walking to your appointment, or park at the St Paul’s Anglican Church next door. Our clinic’s carpark sometimes reaches full capacity during busy vaccine clinics.

Talk to your doctor first if your child:

  1. Have had allergies or anaphylaxis, particularly to vaccines in the past
  2. Has had any heart conditions, eg. myocarditis, pericarditis, rheumatic heart disease or decompensated heart failure.

Your child cannot have the vaccine if they:

  1. Are waiting for COVID-19 test results
  2. Have been told to stay home and self-isolate
  3. Have a fever, sore throat or cough.

If you have any of these conditions, please call us on 98709000 to reschedule your appointment.

Positioning your child for their vaccine

Younger children can be held by the parent or guardian in a straddle position.

  • The carer hugs the child against their chest with the child straddling both of the carer’s legs.
  • The carer is holding the child tightly with their left arm and the child’s right arm is tucked under the carer’s left armpit.
  • The carer is holding the child’s left arm at the elbow against the child’s body, using their right hand.
  • The child’s left arm is exposed for the injection to occur

Make sure your child feels calm and in control. Instead of telling the child what they need to do to “be still”, give them a role, for example: “your special job is to keep your arm as still as a statue”.
