This is a continuous ECG recording performed over 24 to 48 hours to detect heart rhythm abnormalities that may not appear during a short ECG in clinic. It is useful for:

• Identifying irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias)
• Evaluating palpitations, dizziness, or blackouts
• Monitoring effectiveness of medications
• Assessing unexplained chest discomfort or fatigue

The device is small and worn comfortably under your clothes. You’ll be asked to go about your normal activities and keep a simple symptom diary.

This test measures your blood pressure automatically at regular intervals over a 24-hour period, including while you sleep. It helps to:

• Confirm or rule out high blood pressure (hypertension)
• Assess whether current treatment is working effectively
• Evaluate blood pressure variability
• Identify white-coat or masked hypertension

The monitor is worn on a belt with a cuff on your upper arm. It inflates periodically during the day and night to record readings. A full report is generated for your GP.

During your appointment:

• If you are having a 24-Hour Holter Monitor, electrodes will be placed on your chest and connected to a lightweight monitor
• If you are having a 24-Hour Blood Pressure Monitor, a BP cuff will be carefully fitted onto your arm and connected to a lightweight monitor
• You’ll wear the device during your normal daily activities
• You’ll keep a diary of symptoms and activities
• You’ll return the device for analysis after the monitoring period

The recorded data is reviewed by a cardiologist, and a report is sent to your referring doctor.
